Karl Krull was mad. He wanted to comment on the light rail project we ran a story on in our Feb. 22 issue. When he called the listed number at Sound Transit for public comment, a robot answered and said he could bypass the announcement in four different languages by pressing zero.
That made him mad and he called the Westside Seattle at 425-238-4616 to complain. All he wanted to say was he hoped the materials used in the light rail project were made in the USA.
At the sound of that second beep, he got mad and hung up. He wanted to talk to a human and wanted know why a human was not there to receive his complaint.
Karl is 84. He has lived in his West Seattle home since 1962. In 1948, he was a paperboy for the West Seattle Herald. He said he would cancel his subscription, the one he has had since 1962, if we could not find out why there is not a person at Sound Transit to answer his question.
We hope someone can let him know. We have his phone number in case a human at Sound Transit wants to give Karl a call.
