the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed three felony charges in connection to the Wednesday shooting in Ballard.
George V. Sloan was charged with:
- Assault in the First Degree
- Assault in the Second Degree
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree
Mr. Sloan’s next court date is his arraignment, where a plea is entered. That’s scheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 12 in room E1201A of the King County Courthouse.
There are only two previous referrals the KCPAO has received for Mr. Sloan – both 2005 cases we charged that ended with convictions.
The first case, 05-1-06897-0, was a conviction for Robbery in the First Degree. The second case, 05-1-06956-9, was a conviction for two counts of Robbery in the First Degree. One of the counts in that case also had a firearm enhancement.

Police arrested the suspect in a shooting that left two people injured late Wednesday night in Ballard.
At 11:05 p.m., police were dispatched to a physical fight in progress inside a shelter in the 6500 block of 12th Avenue Northwest. Within five minutes, a 911 caller reported someone had been shot at the same location.
Officers arrived and located two victims with gunshot wounds: a 60-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm, and a 49-year-old man with a graze wound to his arm. Seattle Fire Department medics transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police found and arrested the suspect a couple blocks away, and located a firearm in some nearby bushes.
Officers will book the 35-year-old suspect into King County Jail for assault in the first degree.
