Police are investigating a shooting in a Ballard neighborhood.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m., 911 Dispatch (CARE) received reports of a shooting at 15th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 80th Street. Police arrived and found a 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back area. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Witness said the man was riding a motorcycle south of the intersection of 15th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 80th Street when he was shot. No suspect was located.
During the Investigation police discovered the motorcycle that the man was driving was stolen.
Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives will be leading the investigation.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation and no suspect has been taken into custody at this time.
