UPDATE: Sheriff's Office seeks help in assault at Sylvester Middle School grounds in Burien

Update for July 25: Police are seeking information from the public in the brutal beating of an 18-year-old, hearing-impaired man that took place around July 20 at the Sylvester Middle School grounds in Burien.
Sgt. John Urquhart said King County Sheriffs have no suspects at this time and are asking the public for information leading to an arrest.
The victim, believed to be sleeping at the school as he is homeless "from time to time," suffered a serious head injury in the attack that occurred sometime overnight between July 19 and 20. His injuries were originally thought to be life threatening, but his condition has been upgraded to "extremely serious condition." He is still recovering at Harborview Medical Center, Sgt. Urquhart said.

The incident occurred in the sometime overnight, Tuesday or Wednesday, July 19th/20th. Burien Police learned of the assault when they received a 9-1-1 call about 7:00 AM Wednesday morning. The caller said there was a bloodied and staggering man in the street directly across from Sylvester Middle School, 162221 Sylvester Road SW, in Burien.
Police found the man a few minutes later. He had suffered a serious head injury. He could not talk due to his hearing disability and assualt, but kept pointing over towards the school.
Deputies and police checked the school and found some of the man’s belongings, including a blood-stained sleeping bag and blood on the wall of a school breezeway. They also found his hearing aid which was now broken and inoperative.

Assault Victim Found in Burien
The victim of an apparent assault was found near Highline Medical Center in Burien this morning. He had serious head injuries and was taken to Harborview. He is 18 years old.
Deputies were called to the 16200 block of Sylvester Road SW to look for a man bleeding from the head. He was found standing on the sidewalk on the east side of the roadway with dried blood in his face. He had trouble standing and was incoherent.
The man kept pointing across the street towards Sylvester Middle School. Deputies checked and found what appeared to be the man’s belongings and more dried blood in a breezeway and on the side of the building.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is continuing.
