As an Alaska Airlines plane from Anchorage landed at Seatac around 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 6, a 39-year-old male passenger was unwilling to wait quietly with his seat belt clipped as the plane taxied to its stop, according to Alaska Air spokesperson Bobbie Egan.

The man rushed to the front of the model 737-900 plane with 166 passengers on board and attempted to exit the aircraft prematurely.

“Flight attendants and a couple passengers restrained the man," Egan said. "After the plane was parked at the gate, the pilot serving as the First Officer left the flight deck to assist in restraining the disruptive passenger during which time the passenger bit the First Officer."

Port of Seattle Police came out to the plane and arrested the man while the first officer was taken to the Highline Medical Center in Burien with minor injuries.

No other passenger or flight crew injuries were reported.

According to an International Business Times report, the suspect was taken to Highline Medical Center for a mental evaluation before being escorted to King County Jail.
