It's the time of the year we think and wear pink to honor those who we've lost, and to those who've survived breast cancer.
Sheila Lengle, a Highline Times sales consultant and artist, knows all about it though she believes she has done better than survive, she's prevailed over the disease.
To celebrate life she plans to donate 50 percent of the proceeds from a silent auction for one of her paintings, "Amy's Bouquet." Several of her original pieces are showing at West Seattle's Alki Arts, 2820 Alki Ave. S.W.
Gallery owner Diane Venti is hosting an art opening for Lengle and her work on Sept. 23rd from 6- 9 p.m. Ten percent of all sales will be donated to breast cancer research.
The public is invited to enjoy Lengle's's whimsical work, wine and tid-bits, and live music.
