Wesley Homes has announced the appointment of Ellen Boyer to the position of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. As COO/CFO, Boyer will help develop and strengthen the infrastructure of Wesley Homes to prepare the organization for growth.

"We're very excited to have Ellen join us," said Wesley Homes President and CEO Kevin Anderson. "Her extensive background in operations, finance and computer science comes at a critical time for Wesley Homes."

Boyer's association with Wesley Homes started when her mother was chairman of the Board of Trustees. It continued with her brother's tenure as treasurer of the board and her own membership on the board.

She's been on the boards of Sterling Savings Bank and several non-profits, including a number of churches, businesses and Friends of Youth.

Boyer's professional career includes 12 years with Price Waterhouse, nine years with Kibble and Prentice and a number of years as chief financial officer for a couple of hi-tech companies.

Although Boyer has spent time on numerous boards, this is the first time she is a staff member at a not-for-profit.

"I love to learn," said Boyer, "and this is a whole new industry for me. I really enjoy getting diverse pieces of a business to work together and creating kind of a cross-pollination of communication between entities. In using this forte of mine and blending it with the not-for-profit retirement industry, I can help Wesley Homes move to the next level of growth."

Established in 1944 and affiliated with the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church, Wesley Homes operates two retirement communities and a home health agency.

Wesley Homes Des Moines is a continuing care retirement community offering cottage homes, apartments, assisted living and skilled nursing. Wesley Homes Lea Hill in Auburn offers village homes, apartments, assisted living and memory care.

Wesley Homes Community Health Services provides home health services to clients throughout the Puget Sound region
