The West Seattle Wildcats finished the regular Metro League season on a losing note in a game played at Seattle Memorial Stadium. They will open state action Saturday, going to Ingersoll Stadium to play Capital at 7 p.m.

Girls swimming
West Central District
Mount Rainier won the West Central District Class 4A championship Saturday, scoring 215 points in the action held at the Rogers Aquatic Center in Puyallup. Kentlake was next with 163 points and Stadium was third with 125.
The Rams are also sending a host of athletes on to next week's state championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
Jackie Beal is advancing in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke as a junior and freshman Anna Burdine qualified in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 breaststroke. Sophomore Megan Kawaguchi made state in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke and Courtney Larson reached state as a junior in the 50 freestyle and 100 back.
Junior Rachel Webster is going in the 200 IM and 100 breast.
Kawaguchi, Webster, Beal and Larson qualified in the 200 medley relay and senior Sonny Dorhofer, senior Bernadine Ward, senior Maddie Duncanson and Webster made state in the 200 free relay.
Beal, freshman Kristin Lemley, Larson and Kawaguchi are advancing in the 400 free relay.
At districts, Mount Rainier won the 200 medley relay in 1:52.05 and Kawaguchi took the 200 IM in 2:07.74 and the 100 back in 57.61. Mount Rainier won the final 400 free relay in 3:41.56.
Cross country
West Central District
Jordan McPhee of Mount Rainier sped to a first place finish in the Class 4A girls race Saturday, posting a time of 18:12. Yohana Salzano of Foster was sixth in the 2A race in 19:31 and Tianna Brinkman of Seattle Christian took ninth in the 1A portion in 20:23. The Warriors were 13th as a team with 270 points on the girls side and 13th with 266 on the boys.
Seattle Lutheran was seventh with 153 points in the boys meet and Matt Haggerty took second in 17:42. Nick Dorsett of Kennedy was eight in the boys 3A competition in 16:45.
