From KCSO:
A suspect claiming to be an apartment manager entered an apartment in the 13700 block of 12 Ave SW about 7pm on Monday evening and attempted to sexually assault a 13 year old girl.
The victim had taken out the trash and was approached by a black male as she walked back to her apartment. The suspect told her he was the apartment manager and needed to check the hot water tank.
The victim let the suspect into the apartment where he attempted to sexually assault her. During the incident the victim yelled for her 9 year old brother to call the police and the suspect fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, 16-22, with a shaved head or very short hair.
The apartment complex has regular uniformed security and all employees wear uniforms. The suspect is not believed to be an employee.
The Burien Police notified the apartment managers who in turn notified the complex residents.
Burien Police Chief Scott Kimerer said, “Detectives have been working all day on every avenue to try and identify this suspect. It is a high priority for us and the Sheriff’s Office.”

The story has similarities to the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Shoreline in early December. 38-year-old Jesse R. Gonzales is charged with first-degree rape and first-degree burglary in the case. Court documents allege he entered the home of the victim and her siblings and repeatedly raped the victim while adults were away. He was identified and ultimately arrested thanks to a palm print he left at the scene. King County Sheriffs used their newly updated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (it now searches palms) to make the match.
