UPDATE; Burien Bites set for May 27

Are there really more than 125 eateries in Burien? On May 27, you're going to get a chance to try a few you may not have visited. Burien Bites participants will enjoy the experience and diversity of flavors and people in our community as restaurants fling their doors open for guests to sample some of their delights. Walk the red carpet, get your celebrity photos in the special event social photo station and enjoy the best food and drinks in Burien, May 27.
Registration fee is $10. Restaurants will have $5 or $10 sample plates. Watch for the special Burien Bites "Punch Stations" located at 20 restaurants around town. Visit three or more and you may enter to win dinner free for a year. Proceeds benefit local charities.
When you register, you will be given a list of participating restaurants you may visit in your choice of a random or organized order. Track with others on the Burien Bites mobile app designed to allow rating and ranking of the restaurants. Return to HomeTask to enter the drawing enjoy the after party and to watch the results tally on the big screen.
Long time business owner and resident Jerrod Sessler has taken over former location of Jorstad Jewelers location on the 6th avenue block of 152nd Street and is now home to HomeTask.com.
Sessler has chosen a non-traditional grand opening in the form of “Burien Bites”. He wanted to celebrate by presenting something that would build Burien and bring people together annually. “Burien Bites” will showcase the variety of cuisine in Burien.
The winning restaurant will get their name engraved on the Burien Bites trophy. And, they will display the trophy until the next Bite. The winning restaurant also receives $250 of organic produce from Freggies.

Two days after "Burien Bites", HomeTask is hosting a celebration and restaurant seminar "5 steps to Local Food in 2012". All restaurant owners are invited to attend. A member of the Washington Restaurant Association will be among the guest speakers. Sessler has also arranged for a numerous restaurant vendors and supporters to be on hand. The seminar is free for purveyors in Burien. Seminar is scheduled for Tuesday morning 9a.m. - 11a.m.
Restauranteurs need to register for Burien Bites by April 27 to secure a spot on the progressive tour of eateries. There are two registration options, cool and even cooler. Purveyors, grab a registration form at http://www.BurienBites.com
