Tukwila death
Late Saturday morning (June 30th), Tukwila officers responded to a 911 call from the residents of a house in the 5600 blk. of S. 152nd Place. A 26-year-old male with a history of mental illness was being combative with his family and making strange statements to the 911
operator. Officers arrived to find the male holding a golf club and threatening his family. The male broke his ankle while trying to escape from the officers as they were taking him into custody for an involuntary mental health commitment. An ambulance and a Fire Department aid crew were summoned to treat the ankle injury and to transport the male to the hospital. While inthe ambulance, the male began to have breathing difficulties. He was taken to Harborview Hospital for emergency care where he later died. Detectives from the Valley Investigative Team responded to conduct an independent investigation and document the incident. At this time the cause of death is unknown. The Tukwila Police Department cannot release any further information at this time due to the on-going investigation.

Burien woman bites sister's wrist
A 26-year-old Burien woman was arrested after she got into a fight with her sister July 1. The woman allegedly bit her sister on the left wrist. The assault took place at 12:30 a.m., on the
11700 block of N.E. 128th St.

Sea Tac man injured, asleep at the wheel
Sea Tac resident Michael James Copeland, 27, was injured Saturday afternoon, June 30, when he crashed his Subaru on U.S. Highway 97 about 25 miles north of Ellensburg, the Washington State Patrol reported. He was taken to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. Copeland fell asleep at the wheel about 3:15 p.m. driving southbound and hit guardrails on both sides of the road before the car came to a stop in the northbound lanes, according to troopers. He was expected to be given a ticket for second-degree negligent driving and improper use of his seat belt, according to a news release.

License plates, lights stolen from prison transport van in Tukwila
Both license plates, and lights were stolen off of a prison transport van next to the Tukwila City Hall parking lot on Southcenter Boulevard June 29. Police said the thief also took the blue strobe lights out of the van's grill. "Our biggest concern is if somebody got those plates and those blue lights to impersonate an officer," said Mike Murphy of the Tukwila Police Department. The stolen plane number is 31213D. If anyone spots the plates or is pulled over by someone
whom they believe might not be a member of law enforcement, call 911.
