Smith plans to give a Congressional update and will focus on the debt and deficit situation that is so severely impacting our economy. Audience members are encouraged to bring questions and provide comments about federal issues you want to share your opinion on and ask him to prioritize.
Congressman Smith represents the 9th Congressional District in Washington State. Now in his 8th term, he serves as the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, where he is a strong advocate for military personnel and their families, and is committed to providing our military personnel with the best equipment available to carry out their current and future missions while ensuring that the Pentagon spends taxpayer dollars in the most efficient and effective manner.
Adam has consistently been a strong advocate of fiscal discipline and honesty in federal budgeting. He believes that a return to sincere and deliberate fiscal discipline must be the cornerstone of our government's economic policy and has taken tough votes to balance the budget and reduce the debt. Adam also believes the United States must take a global approach to world leadership, particularly on issues such as global poverty.
