A 57-year-old Burien man stabbed by drinking partner
A 57-year-old Burien man drinking in Jacob Ambaum Park Wednesday, Oct. 3, suffered stab wounds when he refused to give his cell phone to his drinking partner, King County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cindi West, said. The victim told officers he went into the bathroom. The suspect followed him and demanded his cell phone. The victim refused and the uspect allegedly attacked and stabbed him repeatedly before fleeing. The
victim went to a nearby convenience store to ask for help. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is in stable condition. The suspect is still at large. Anyone with information is asked to King County Sheriffʼs Office at 206- 296-3311 and reference case #12-232382.
Man charged with Attempted Rape Second Degree & possession of meth
Andrew William Dempsey, 32, accused of attacking an 11-year-old boy in the Albertsons grocery store bathroom in Burien Sept. 29 was charged with Attempted Rape Second Degree Wednesday,Oct. 3. He was also charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine and remains in jail on $1 million bail. As the boy left the men's room stall, Dempsey grabbed his head and the boy screamed for help. The man then pushed the boy to the floor and put him in a headlock and dragged him. The boy said his attacker was not wearing any pants or underwear and told him he was going to "kill him" about eight times. Witnesses heard the boy's screams and went to the bathroom. Store employees tried to detain Dempsey, and he bit an employee in the arm. During the struggle, a plastic bag containing what appeared to be rocks of methamphetamine fell out of Dempsey's bag. Police arrived at the scene and took Dempsey into custody. Dempsey told police he had been homeless in Burien for a couple of years. Dempsey is scheduled to be arraigned on October 15.
Deputies & Search and Rescue seek knife on I-5
Sheriff's deputies and members of King County Search and Rescue searched along northbound Interstate 5 between South 272nd Street and Kent-Des Moines Road for a knife used in the stabbing of a 20-year-old man Sept. 29. Police at about 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, responded to the 13200 block of Second Avenue South in Burien, where a wounded man was knocking on a neighborʼs door. When police arrived they found the 20-year-old victim with a stab wound to his stomach. Detectives learned that the victim had been at a party at a nearby house during the previous evening. The victim was stabbed during an altercation with another man there, then walked down the street and passed out. Around 7 a.m. the victim awoke, staggered to a nearby house and knocked on the door. The resident called 911. The victim was taken to Harborview with life-threatening injuries. Detectives arrested a 33-year-old Seattle man in connection with the stabbing and learned that the knife used may have been discarded on I-5. The knife was not located. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail.
