Normandy Pk. PD reports increase in burglaries
On Tuesday, Nov. 20, the Normandy Park Police Department issued the following two warnings: The Normandy Park Police Department would like to warn citizens of a recent upswing in burglaries and vehicle prowls. This is mainly happening off of 1st Avenue but almost all areas have been hit. The police department has recently made an arrest in one case, which may decrease the number of crimes in the future. We would remind citizens to not leave valuables in your vehicles and to lock doors and set alarms. We also encourage citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police department by calling 206-248-7600 or 911. Ecstasy confiscated in Burien
Detectives served a narcotics search warrant on a house in the 1000 block of SW 130 Street on Nov. 17 around 9:45 p.m., resulting in a haul valued at more than $54,000. Two men, both age 25-years old, were arrested. According to Sgt. Cindi West of the King County Sheriff’s Office, detectives seized: 6.83 pounds of marijuana, approximate street value of $10,000; 675 oxycodone pills, approximate street value $20,000; 820 Ecstasy pills, $12,000 approximate street value; over $12,000 in US currency and a hunting rifle. The house is about 300 yards from a school, said West.
Drunk man assaults hospital staff
A man was found drunk in the 12200 block of 4th Avenue Southwest. He was unable to care for himself and was transported to Highline Hospital. While at the hospital he tried to head butt and bite the hospital staff. Police responded and he was booked into King County Jail for investigation of felony assault.
