Evergreen Lutheran's efforts added up to high finishes on both the girls and boys side at the Quad-District Class 1B meet that concluded Saturday, May 18 at Port Angeles High School on the Olympic Peninsula.
The Eagles scored 122 points in the girls standings for second place behind only the 173 points of Mount Vernon Christian.
The Evergreen Lutheran boys, meanwhile, scored 35 points for ninth place as a team.
Karissa Kjenstad won the 100-meter dash for the girls in a time of 2 minutes, 29.10 seconds and the 800 in 2:29.10 and also took third in the 400 in 1:04.23 just ahead of teammate Emily Holder (1:05.80). Holder was also first in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches and fifth in the 800 in 2:29.10.
Iraina Nitz captured second in the 1,600 in 5:58.53 and second in the 3,200 in 3:05.74 ahead of teammate Lena Pitenger's 13.17.23 for third.
Colleen Croy of the Eagles took second in the 100 in 13.61 seconds and placed third in the 200 in 28.21.
Autumn Echols came in sixth for the Eagle girls in 57.49 in the 300 hurdles with teammate Ruth Woldu eighth (1:00.11). Echols was also seventh in the 100 hurdles.
Evergreen Lutheran was second in the girls 400 relay in a time of 54.33, second in the 1,600 relay in 4:23.84 and second in the 800 relay (1:56.50).
Mallory Finn finished fifth in the shot put at 29-02.75.
Jodi Anderson was sixth in the triple jump at 29-11.75.
Isaac Park won the boys long jump at 19-07.25 and placed fifth in the boys 100 in 12.32. John Henning was seventh in the 3,200 in 11:10.99 with teammate Michael Overfield eighth (11:53.68). Henning was also eighth in the 1,600 in 5:01.79 and Tim Weddle took eighth in the 800 in 2:15.22.
John Strong and Harry Jo of the Eagles came in seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles with time of 18.83 and 20.76. Strong was also seventh in the 300 hurdles in 46.76 with teammate Daniel Finstrom eighth in 49.44.
Aaron Waldo was fifth in the high jump at 4-11.00.
Evergreen Lutheran snagged sixth in the boys 400 relay in 48.15 and seventh in the 1,600 relay in 3:58.38.
Jake Lawrence came in eighth in the boys shot put at 35-00.00.
The 1B state meet is being held this weekend at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.
Class 4A
The Mount Rainier High School boys team tied Thomas Jefferson for 18th place in the Class 4A West Central District meet with 10 points and the Ram girls team came in 27th with two points.
Amani Brown led the way for the boys team, winning the shot put with an effort of 53 feet, 8.00 inches.
The Mount Rainier girls team, meanwhile, secured seventh in the 400-meter relay in a time of 50.23.
State 4A, 3A and 2A action is being hosted by Mount Tahoma High School in Tahoma.
District results from the 3A and 2A meets have not been posted yet.
