This massive white oak dominates the side yard of a home on 162nd S.W. It's owners, Rita and Frank Corken, believe the tree to be about 150 years old. Their house was built about 1925. Frank Corken said that if the tree ever toppled, he's afraid the roots might pry up the foundation of his house. And the leaves! In the fall, the amount of leaves that drop is massive, he said, and have to be hauled away. From time to time, passersby ask if they can have their picture taken in front of the tree.
