High school sports
Fall turnouts
Tryouts for high school football in Washington state get underway Wednesday, followed by all other fall sports on Monday. Contact the individual schools for exact times and locations.
Pro sports
Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners are in Oakland for 7:07 p.m. action against the A's Monday and Tuesday and they will stay for a 12:37 p.m. game Wednesday.
Seattle then takes Thursday off before hosting the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 6:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday at Safeco Field. Texas then comes to town for 7:10 p.m. action Monday, Aug. 26 and Tuesday, Aug. 27 and for a 12:40 p.m. game next Wednesday Aug. 28.
The action can be seen on the ROOT cable network and heard on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle visits Green Bay for a 5 p.m. National Football League preseason game Friday.
The game can be seen on Q13 live and heard on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Tacoma Rainiers
Tacoma is at home at Cheney Stadium playing Colorado Springs in 7 p.m. Pacific Coast League games Monday and Tuesday before going to Tucson for 7:05 p.m. action Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Rainiers return to Tacoma to play Salt Lake City at 7 p.m. next Monday through Thursday.

Seattle Storm
The WNBA Seattle Storm hosts Los Angeles at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the KeyArena.
Tuesday's action will be carried nationally on ESPN 2 and all Storm games can be heard on AM 1090 radio.
Seattle Sounders
The Portland Timbers invade CenturyLink for 7 p.m. action against the Sounders on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Everett Aquasox
The Mariners' Class A Northwest League affiliate is at home at Everett Memorial playing Eugene at 7:05 p.m. this Monday and Tuesday.
Vancouver will be in Everett for 7:05 p.m. action Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and the Aquasox visit the Tri-City team at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Seattle Thunderbirds
Seattle will be hosting a series of team scrimmages with free admission as it opens its Western Hockey League training camp at the Showare Center in Kent this week.
There will be 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. matches Thursday and Friday and a series of them starting at 3 p.m. Saturday. Scheduled for Sunday are 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. matches and Monday's action to close out the camp features a full 60-minute, three period match at 5:30 p.m.
Showare Center is located on James Street in the middle of the Kent valley.
College sports
Women's soccer
Seattle University hosts Washington State University for a 5 p.m. women's soccer match Friday. The Redhawks' roster includes Julia Besagno from Kennedy.
Men's soccer
Seattle Pacific University goes on a short road trip to the University of Washington for 7:30 p.m. action Saturday.
Mount Rainier graduate Darwin Jones and Kennedy graduate Ian Lange play for the Huskies and Ballard graduate Jeffrey Collings is a member of the SPU team.
