Just an Observation "Reproductive Rights"

– Actor, Mark Ruffalo, recently sent a letter to a rally at a Mississippi abortion clinic. The organizers are touting “Reproductive Rights.” It sounds so noble, doesn’t it – asking for rights?
Here is the abbreviated post of his letter from the internet:
“I am a man. I could say this has nothing to do with me. Except I have two daughters and I have a mother who was forced to illegally have an abortion in her state where abortion was illegal when she was a very young woman. It cost $600 cash. It was a traumatizing thing for her. It was shameful and sleazy and demeaning. When I heard the story I was aghast by the lowliness of a society that would make a woman do that. I could not understand its lack of humanity; today is no different.
I invite you to find your voice and let it be known that you stand for abortion rights and the dignity of a woman to be the master of her own life and body. I invite you to search your soul and ask yourself if you actually stand for what you say you stand for. Thank you for being here today and thank you for standing up for the women in my life. Sincerely and humbly, Mark Ruffalo”
Mr. Ruffalo states that his mother was “forced” to have an (illegal) abortion. Really – forced?
Was she forced to get pregnant, too? He doesn’t mention anything about rape. He also states that it was traumatizing, shameful, sleazy and demeaning for his mother. Of course it was all of those things. Killing any innocent creature is shameful, but to kill your own child would definitely be traumatizing.
And he goes on to say that a society is low and lacking humanity for making a woman have an (illegal) abortion. Society did not make his mother have sex and get pregnant, so how did we make her do anything? The fact is that she made bad choices and there are consequences for
them, but they shouldn’t be paid by an innocent child.
Mark invites the public to “find their voice”. Does he mean the voice with which an unborn child would scream, if it could? He also talks of dignity. What is dignified about allowing someone else to pay for your mistakes? And finally he invites us to search our souls. Well I did and this is why I’m speaking out.
How clever for them to call it “Reproductive Rights”. It was the fact that a woman exercised her rights to reproduce that got her pregnant in the first place. Do you realize how rare it is that a woman requests an abortion, because she was raped or because her life would be at risk to give birth?
The latest statistics show that 1.2 million abortions were done in the United States – of those, over 24,000 belong to Washington State. Statistics also show that only 2 to 4% were due to rape or to protect a woman’s life.
This basically means that at least 96% of the women, who chose to have an abortion, also chose to have sex, knowing the risks. I think that it’s time that we stop sugar-coating the facts. This 96% should accept the fact that they paid for another human (a doctor) to kill their children, for their convenience.
I don’t even need to argue whether an abortion is right or wrong, because I believe that people already know the answer to that. I say this, because instead of calling them babies, they call them unattractive names like embryos or fetuses. And they mask the truth of the procedures with more palatable names, such as Partial Birth Abortion. However, the procedure is the most gruesome torture that could be performed on a living creature. It’s so gruesome that people just don’t speak of the actual details and they don’t really want to know, either. Look it up on the internet, if you dare. I wouldn’t do to a slug what is being done to human babies.
Mark says that he’s aghast? No, I’m aghast - at the morals and complacency of our society. But if the evolutionists are right and we’re all just highly developed pond scum, then what does it matter if any of us live or die, right?
However, please don’t misunderstand, as a woman, I do believe that women should have reproductive rights. They should not be raped and they should have the right to use contraception or keep their legs together if they don’t want children
