Passage of Proposition 1 means happy holidays for SeaTac Workers
Yes! For SeaTac spokesperson Heather Weiner addressed the throng of reporters. Opponents of the measure, including Alaska Airlines and the Washington Restaurant Association, have vowed to file suit to overturn the vote. A hand recount, paid for by opponents, has been promised. The measure passed by 77 votes.

Seattle media came out Tuesday at SeaTac Airport to record the official announcement of the passage of Proposition 1, the measure which gives workers in the City of SeaTac a base wage of $15 an hour. Speakers at the press conference included State Senator Karen Keiser, Jan Bolerjack, pastor at Riverton Park United Methodist, David Rolf, president of SEIU 775, Sergio Salinas, president of SEIU Local 6 (airport workers) and SeaTac resident Chris Smith.
