Woman held in SeaTac after failing to smuggle 23 Kilos of cocaine into Canada
A woman is being held at the SeaTac Federal Detention Center after a failed attempted to smuggle a car full of cocaine into Canada. The failed drug run took place on the evening of Wednesday, December 17th after U.S. Customs and Border Patrol in Blaine received a tip that a woman had been seen in Seattle loading drugs into a secret compartment in her Volvo XC90. When the same vehicle was seen approaching the Canadian boarder later that evening, officers decided to stop and search the vehicle. The result was 21 sealed packages of cocaine that together weighed in at 23 kilograms. The suspect, identified as Robyn Cortney Bell, is being held in SeaTac for suspicion of cocaine possession with intention to distribute. The cocaine is valued at $900,000.

Stolen car pursuit results in I-5 closer in Tukwila
Traffic came to a standstill for the drivers on northbound I-5 in the midmorning hours of December 16 as police dealt with  two woman in a stollen vehicle. The Hyundai Sonata, which had recently been reported as stollen, was first spotted by police in SeaTac just after 10 a.m. near the intersection of South 170th and International Boulevard. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle but reports indicate that the drive attempted to flee. The stollen vehicle was then pursued by two King County Sheriff’s deputies until I-5’s mile marker 159 in Tukwila after one of the deputies used the PIT maneuver on the stollen car and ended the chase. Two woman, both described as in their early 20’s and known by law enforcement for having a history with car theft, were arrested without further incident. Traffic was stopped on northbound I-5 for about 15 minutes as police dealt with the initial stages of their investigation. Some northbound lanes were closed through the afternoon.
