Jan. 14 thru April 18, Wed. & Thurs. from 4-8 p.m. & Sat. from 10-2 p.m. Highline College and King County United Way are hosting this free tax preparation service for the public. Households making less than $60,000, with tax returns involving NO business taxes, rental income, or sale of property or stocks, are eligible for this free service. Participants must bring their Social Security Card/ITTIN letters for everyone on the return, photo ID, and all tax statements, such as W-2 forms, 1099 forms or SSA-1099 forms. Bringing bank account numbers, routing numbers and a copy of last year’s tax return is highly recommended. Those participants filing return with spouses must be present to e-file. Every Mon., Tues. & Wed., starting Jan. 20 thru March 18, 1-2:35pm. Free 9-week course, space is limited. There will be assistance with preparing for the test, application procedures and follow through on the steps to becoming a US citizen. Students must bring their permanent resident card and their driver’s license or identification card. The instructor, Karen Hirschfeld, is trained in the content and has significant teaching experience with English language learners. She continues to pursue studies in landscape, still life and the figure in oil, pastel, and watercolor.
