New service offers in-home care

When Joey Sposari's in-laws began to suffer the effects of aging, he learned firsthand how important it is to have family close enough to help. But as with millions of families across the nation whose parents wish to age-in-place, in the comfort of their own homes, he soon found the burden of caregiving to be time consuming and financially draining on the adult children. He discovered that the family caregivers needed help. In-home caregivers hired from outside the home that are trusted to take care of his family’s parents were needed. But who to trust? There had to be a solution. After all, not everyone wants to go to a nursing home.
Sposari, from West Seattle, was so inspired to find a solution for his family, he left his long time career as a contractor and took the leap from building roads to providing help fulltime. After extensive state training, he opened the first Home Helpers and Direct Link office in Burien. His "family" of associates includes a pool of top-notch Certified Nursing Assistants and In-Home Caregivers who are local, skilled and compassionate. All must pass rigorous training, drug screens and background checks ensuring the best possible in-home care for anyone who needs help. The caregivers have all types of specialties, from helping new mothers, to people who’ve recently had surgery, to the elderly who may suffer from Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
One special feature of Home Helpers is the Direct Link personal emergency response system (PERS). At the touch of a button help is on the way. Direct Link is worn as a pendant or a wristband and has a unique “fall” sensor, programmed on site to the individual. Should a fall occur, the sensor is activated directly to the designated first responders. Direct Link also provides medication reminders and vital signs monitoring, this system really provides piece of mind for everyone.
Nursing assistants and home care specialists are often with clients from early in the a.m. to later in the evening. Hours vary by need. Many clients just want a few hours a day while other require more steady care. Outside therapists, registered nurses and hospice are available as needed.
Any person with a disability, either temporary or chronic, will need help sometime. When regular family members live too far away or have work requirements preventing them from providing more immediate comfort to their parents or relatives, Home Helpers can fill that need.
All consultations for In-Home Care and/or Direct Link units are free. Plans are flexible and customizable per each person’s needs. Here is a short list of services:
