Kent man dies in Tukwila Crash

Emergency responders and Harborview Medical Center staff were unable to revive a 45-year-old Kent man after a crash in Tukwila that left traffic backed up for six miles on I-5 South. According to the King County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place when a semi truck driver on southbound I-5 attempted to merge onto I-405 just after 4 p.m. on Monday, March 30th. A collision occurred when the Kent man, driving a yellow 2004 Volkswagen Golf, suddenly changed lanes and hit the rear wheels of the semi truck’s trailer. Witnesses attempted to perform CPR on the man before he was rushed to Harborview but all attempts were unsuccessful. Wreckage from the accident and traffic took several hours to clear. Traffic was stopped as far north as Georgetown.
