High schools
Boys soccer
Tyee hosts Ridgefield for a 6 p.m. state Class 2A playoff opener at Highline Memorial Stadium on Wednesday as Mount Rainier travels to Snohomish for 8 p.m. Class 4A action.
State quarterfinals will take place for first round winners Friday and Saturday.
Fastpitch
Kennedy Catholic visits Bellarmine for a 4 p.m. non-league game Wednesday and the Sea-King District 2 tournament continues Thursday with West Seattle playing at 5 p.m. at either the Southwest Athletic Complex or Southeast Athletic Complex.
SWAC near Chief Sealth will be the site of all games on the final day of the tournament Friday.
A loser-out game for fifth place starts off the day at 3 p.m., followed by the game for third and fourth at 5 p.m. and the game for first and second at 7 p.m.
West Central District action takes place Friday and Saturday at the Sprinker Recreation Center in Spanaway.
Highline and Evergreen both play in 10 a.m. games to open Friday, with Seattle Christian playing at 11 a.m. and Kennedy Catholic at 12 p.m.
Baseball
Seattle Christian will play in state Class 1A regional action Saturday, taking on South Whidbey in a 10 a.m. game at Volunteer Park in Anacortes.
The Warriors must win that game and a second afternoon game to reach state play in Yakima next week.
Track and field
The Sea-King track and field meet runs at the SWAC Wednesday through Friday, with the West Central District 4A meet running Thursday through Saturday at French Field in Kent.
Class 1B Tri-District action runs the same days at Port Angeles High School.
The 3A WCD meet is Friday and Saturday at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner with the 1A and 2A WCD action the same days at North Mason High School.
Tennis
The Sea-King tournament concludes Wednesday at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle.
Pros and college
Mariners
Seattle is at Baltimore for 4:05 p.m. action Wednesday and for a 9:35 a.m. game Thursday before going to Toronto for a 4:07 p.m. game Friday at 10:07 a.m. games Saturday and Sunday.
The M's travel to Tampa Bay for 4:10 p.m. action Monday and Tuesday.
All Seattle games can be seen on ROOT Sports cable television.
Sounders
Seattle hosts Sporting Kansas City for a 7 p.m. match at CenturyLink Field Saturday with JOEtv carrying the action live.
Rainiers
Tacoma has Wednesday off before opening a series in Iowa with a 4:38 p.m. game Thursday. The Rainiers will stay for 5:08 p.m. action Friday and Saturday and for an 11:08 a.m. contest Sunday.
The team then packs its bags again and goes to Omaha for a 10:05 a.m. game Monday and for 4:35 p.m. action Tuesday.
Husky baseball
The University of Washington baseball team wraps up its regular season this weekend with home games against Utah at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday.
