Speeding Tukwila man flees accident before himself being hit
A 26-year-old Tukwila man ended up in the hospital after attempting to flee an accident he caused while speeding on the interstate. The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, May 18th. According to police the suspect was speeding south on I-5 near SeaTac in his late model Lexus when he struck a Toyota Prius and caused it to roll over. The suspect then attempted to flee the scene by getting out of his car, jumping the median divider and cross the northbound lanes of I-5. As he attempted to cross I-5, he was struck by a northbound vehicle. Emergency responders rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition. Occupants of the Prius and the northbound vehicle all escaped without injury. Southbound lanes were blocked for two hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
