Evergreen-Tyee draws honors

Lindbergh won the Seamount League boys track and field title this year, but three of the top award winners were from the Evergreen-Tyee contingent.
Marques Chacon of Evergreen was named as the Athlete of the Year and Chuck Cushman of Evergreen-Tyee as the Coach of the Year.
Evergreen-Tyee also won the Team Sportsmanship award.
Chacon was named to the first team in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs, while teammate Ryan Thol made the squad in the 110-meter high hurdles.
Patrick Sa'au of Foster earned the first team high jump award.
Seven athletes were named to the first team from Lindbergh including the 1,600-meter relay team of Andrew Tarango, Deven Maddy, Isaiah Banfro and Victor Craft.
D'Shaun Simms won the discus award, JoJo Serquinia the javeln award and Robby Williamson the pole vault for the Eagles.
Renton's 400-meter relay team of Josiah Story, Maurice Hunter, Taiwan Washington and Tony Vo was named to the first team along with Ijaaz Rashid of the Indians in the triple jump.
Named from Hazen were Rhyan Demile in the long jump and Parker Trewett in the shot put.
Evergreen snagged three second team spots, with Marques Chacon named in the 800 and brother Matthew Chacon named in the 1,600 and 3,200.
The second team also included Kevin Lee of Foster in the long jump.
Chosen for the second team from Lindbergh were Isaiah Banfro in the 100, Victor Craft in the 400, the 400 relay team of Damarco Saults, Isaiah Banfro, Robby Williamson and Victor Craft, James Garcia in the discus, Derek Anderson in the high jump, D'Shaun Simms in the javelin and shot put and Antonio Lim in the pole vault.
Kennedy Catholic had the foursome of Chris Pentralia, Inseon Choi, Nate Randall and Ramsey Bauer named for honorable mention in the pole vault, while Evergreen's Thol made it in the triple jump and 300 hurdles and Ben Tuazon of the Wolverines in the 110 hurdles.
Eric Teng of Foster earned honorable mention in the discus and teammate Zane Jacobsen made it in the javelin. Isaiah Ferrer of the Bulldogs was named in the 100-meter dash.
Other honorable mention choices were Josiah Stroy of Renton in the 200, Tony Vo of Renton in the 400, Kameron Jones of Renton in the 800, Hameed Maktoof of Renton in the 1,600 and 3,200, Wesley Edwards of Renton in the high jump, Ijaaz Rashid of Renton in the long jump, Derek Anderson of Lindbergh in the pole vault, James Garcia of Lindbergh in the shot put and the Hazen 1,600-meter relay team of Aaron Rothlisberger, Jesus Vargas, Ramsaw Bauer and Saivon Johnson.
