Little League
Three area teams will open state Little League all-star baseball action Saturday.
The PacWest 9-10 team opens in Montesano at 12 p.m., while the West Seattle 10-11 team goes to Vancouver for 2:30 p.m. action and the PacWest Juniors go to the same city for a 4 p.m. opener.
The 9-10 tournament is taking place at Nelson Field and the 10-11 tournament at the Fort Vancouver Little League complex.
As for the Juniors tournament, it is being held at the Glenwood complex.
All three teams will play at least one more game later in the tournament.
The Intermediate championship, meanwhile, takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday at South Kitsap West.

Swimming
Arbor Heights hosts Gregory Seahurst for a 6 p.m. meet Thursday as Normandy Park drops in on Olympic View, then on Tuesday Olympic View is at Gregory Seahurst and Arbor Heights at Normandy Park.

Highline Bears
The Highline Bears baseball team visits the Seattle Studs for a 5:30 p.m.. game Thursday before coming home to Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center to take on the Everett Merchants at 7 p.m. Friday.
Highline hosts the Thurston County Senators at the same time and place Saturday, then visit Everett for a 12 p.m. double-header Sunday.

Pros

Sounders
Seattle will be at home at CenturyLink Field playing the Colorado Rapids in a 7 p.m. Major League Soccer match Saturday.
The action can be seen on Channel 13 television and heard on 97.3 FM and 1360 AM radio.

Mariners
Seattle returns to action after the All-Star break Friday, paying a 4:05 p.m. visit to the New York Yankees.
The Mariners stay for 10:05 p.m. games Saturday and Sunday before going to Detroit to take on the Tigers at 4:08 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Seattle games are carried on the ROOT Sports Northwest cable television network and on 710 AM radio.

Rainiers
Federal Way graduate Travis Ishikawa has a good excuse for not being with the Sacramento Rivercats when they come to Cheney Stadium for four games against the Rainiers this week: He was picked up on waivers from the San Francisco Giants organization by Pittsburgh on July 5 and activated by the Pirates the next day. It is his second stint with the Pirates.
The remaining Rivercats are in Tacoma for 7:05 p.m. games Thursday, Friday and Saturday and for a 1:35 p.m. game Sunday.

Tacoma entertains Salt Lake at 7:05 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Rainiers games can be seen on MiLB TV and heard on 850 AM.

Storm
Seattle is at home at KeyArena playing Atlanta in a 6 p.m. WNBA game Saturday before entertaining New York at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Reign
Seattle pays a 4 p.m. visit to the Washington (D.C.) Spirit on Saturday for a women's professional soccer match.
