Ruth Eilene (Linscott) HADLEY

Born October 13, 1918 on a farm near Tekoa, Washington, Ruth Hadley lived a full life of 96 years, and went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ early Sunday morning, August 2, 2015. Ruth grew up in Eatonville and Hoodsport, WA, graduated from high school in Shelton and business college in Tacoma.
In 1942 Ruth married John Urban Hadley, who had a 30 year Navy career. They traveled and lived in many places: Bremerton, San Francisco, San Diego, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Japan before settling down in Burien, WA in 1960, where John finished his naval career and 10 years in civil service before retiring. Ruth retired after 20 years of working at Guaranty National Bank/U.S. Bank in White Center.
In their retirement they enjoyed traveling the world, camping, fishing and trailering around the Pacific Northwest until John’s death in 1997.
Ruth continued to travel and remained active in the Elks Ladies, Highline United Methodist Women and Evergreen Pool aquatics program. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Predeceased by her sisters, Verna and Betty, and brother, Kenneth, Ruth is survived by her sons, John David Hadley (Kate) and Karl Hadley (Kyle); four grandchildren, Kurt, Kerry, Zachery and Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Kendra, Jasmin and Elisa; and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service was held August 8, 2015 at Highline United Methodist Church, Burien, followed by burial at Washington Memorial Park, SeaTac, WA. Remembrances may be made to Highline United Methodist Church.
