Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Ray Conner Establishes STEM Scholarship

Burien, WA– Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Ray Conner and his wife Katie have established an endowed scholarship fund at Central Washington University giving preference to students from Highline Public Schools who are pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, and math disciplines, or an education degree in one of the STEM fields.
“A $10,000 scholarship is a life-changing opportunity,” said Superintendent Susan Enfield. “We are so grateful to Ray and Katie for their support of our students.”
Since Conner grew up in Burien and is a Highline alumnus, the scholarship stipulates that preference be given to applicants from Highline. The award is need-based and students can be first-year or transfer students.
“Hard work, preparation and leadership are all skills impressed on me during my studies at CWU and Highline Schools,” said Conner. “I am pleased I am able to give back and provide students from my community with the same opportunities I had.”
Students may apply for the scholarship later this fall at www.cwu.edu/scholarships/.
