October 16, 1924 ~ September 18, 2015
Clarice Audrey Watson was born October 16, 1924 in Valparaiso, IN, to Rexford and Audrey Watson. In West Seattle, WA, she attended E.C. Hughes Elementary, James Madison Junior High and West Seattle High School.
From the earliest age, Clarice's undoubted passion was music. In 1941 she joined the Junior Seattle Chorale, and met her future husband, William "Bill” Brunke, in this acapella group. The two married June 11, 1945 and were together 60 years until Bill's death in 2006.
Their love of music and the outdoors was matched only by time with family, and they gathered them close as often as possible. They were also founding members of the Normandy Park Congregational Church and performed in the choir. For nearly 45 years they held their church family equally dear.
Clarice, aka Grams, Aunt Carrie, Clarice Ornery and Carrots (for her fiery red hair) will be most remembered for “being there” always for her family and her friends.
Clarice leaves a daughter, Judy Watson of Monroe; a son, Robert Brunke of Federal Way; four granddaughters; six great and two great-great grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews. She remained close with them all her entire life!
A celebration of Clarice's life will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, 2 p.m., at Normandy Park Congregational Church, 19247 1st Ave. South.
