Suspect flees on foot after Des Moines traffic stop
According to a report filed by the Des Moines Police Department a routine traffic stop turned into a chase on foot after a driver in Des Moines attempted to flee from the officers. The chase took place near the intersection of South 136th Street and Des Moines Memorial Drive on the evening of November 11th. Police attempted to pull over a vehicle for an unreported possible violation but when the car pulled over, a man opened the driver’s side door and began to run away from the scene. After a short chase, officers were able to catch up with the suspect and he was arrested for "attempting to elude” which is a class C felony in Washington State. The suspect is now being investigated for violation of the uniform controlled substance act (VUCSA) and was booked into the King County Jail.
