McPherson named Athlete of the Year

Shayne McPherson of the state Class 3A champion Kennedy Catholic team was honored as the Seamount League Athlete of the Year for volleyball as a senior, while Tyee earned the Team Sportsmanship award.
Zach Orcutt of Hazen was named as the Coach of the Year.
Making the first team at hitter along with McPherson were senior teammate Apryll Eneliko, Foster senior Reyleen Gogo, Lindbergh senior Aajua Brooks, Hazen freshman Anna McCallum and Hazen sophomore Alicia Nguyen.
Kennedy sophomore Malia Aleaga was named as a first team setter along with Foster senior Tavaesina Maiava and the first team libero/defensive specialist is Lindbergh senior Vanessa Nguyen.
The second team hitters are Kennedy senior Ellie DeGangne, Highline junior Jenina Faletogo, Evergreen junior Elizabeth Lindo, Kennedy senior Jasmine Moore, Foster freshman Precious Serafica and Evergreen senior Luana Tupa.
The second team setters are Evergreen junior Malaea Vaomu and Hazen freshman Jordan Shively and the second team libero/defensive specialist is Foster senior Maria Ibanez.
The honorable mention libero/defensive specialist is Kennedy sophomore Julia Westhoff and the honorable mention setters are Highline senior Samantha Faletogo and Lindbergh junior Isabelle Diga.
Honorable mention hitters are Foster's Nakita Brusnighan, Highline junior Blessing Faletogo, Tyee senior Cressa Terrado, Hazen sophomore Emily Baker, Lindbergh sophomore Danielle Dang, Renton senior Rachelle Ibanez and Hazen sophomore Kassie Thomazin.
