On December 26, The Kennedy Community Service Classes celebrated Christmas with the Seniors at the Vintage at Burien. The students joined the seniors in decorating Christmas cookies and singing Christmas carols.
Their instructor, Clare Ettensohn, said that "all students are required to perform 30 hours of community service"; according to her class syllabus, "...they are placed with a selected community partner in a mutually beneficial relationship based on a spirit of collaboration."
By looking at the faces of both the students and the seniors, you could tell that there was indeed a 'mutually beneficial relationship' taking place. They both were actively engaged in learning about each other and in sharing the Christmas spirit.
