Girls basketball
West Seattle opens Metro League tournament play Wednesday after receiving a first round bye as the regular season champion.
The Wildcats will face either Cleveland or Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m. in the Nathan Hale gymnasium.
Seamount League teams dive into West Central District tournament play Thursday.
Kennedy visits Lincoln of Tacoma at 7 p.m. in the 3A tournament, while at the same time in the 2A Foster is at River Ridge and Tyee at Liberty.
Seattle Lutheran received a first round bye in 1B Tri-District play and opens instead at 5 p.m. Saturday in its own gymnasium.
Chief Sealth was set to open Metro action at 7 p.m. this Tuesday at Eastside Catholic.
Seattle Christian opens with a 7 p.m. Saturday game at a site to be announced.
Boys basketball
Chief Sealth opens Metro League tournament play at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Roosevelt, after West Seattle opened Monday at O'Dea.
West Central District action begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday for Seamount League teams.
Kennedy will be at home playing Kelso in 3A action, while Highline visits White River and Tyee goes to Liberty in the 2A..
Seattle Lutheran waits until Saturday to open 1B Tri-District action, playing a 7 p.m. home game.
Shorewood Christian will also be in the Seattle Lutheran gymnasium Saturday, playing at 3 p.m.
Seattle Christian goes to Port Townsend at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Boys swimming
Hazen is hosting West Central District action Friday and Saturday.
The 1A/2A meet starts at 10 a.m. Friday and 12 p.m. Saturday, with the 3A starting at 5 p.m. both days.
The Mary Wayte Pool is hosting the 3A Kingco meet that includes the Metro League.
Finals are 5:30 p.m. Saturday after preliminaries start at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday.
Diving
Lindbergh is hosting West Central District diving Friday, with 3A action starting at 10:30 a.m.and the 1A/2A at 4 p.m.
Gymnastics
Mount Rainier is hosting West Central District action this Saturday, with the 4A starting off the day at 9 a.m. and the 2A/3A competition starting at 3 p.m.
The Metro League meet is being held at Ballard the same day with competition getting underway at 9:40 a.m.
Wrestling
Chief Sealth High School is hosting Region II action starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Thunderbirds
Seattle hosts Portland for a 7:05 p.m. Western Hockey League match at the Showare Center in Kent on Saturday and Victoria drops in at 5:05 p.m. Sunday.
Stars
Tacoma's professional indoor soccer team visits the San Diego Sockers for a 7:05 p.m. match Thursday before going to Soles De Sonora at the same time Saturday.

Husky men
The University of Washington men's basketball team visits Utah for a 6 p.m. game Wednesday before going to Colorado for 11 a.m. action Saturday.
ESPN 2 will air Wednesday's game and Saturday's can be seen on the Pac-12 network.
Husky women
Washington is at USC for a 7 p.m. game Friday before visiting UCLA at 11 a.m. Sunday.
Sunday's action will be carried on ESPNU cable.
Cougar men
Washingon State University visits Colorado at 7 p.m. Thursday and Utah at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Pac-12 network airing both games.
Cougar women
The Cougars go to UCLA for a 7 p.m. game Friday and drop in on USC at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Pac-12 network will show Sunday's game.
Redhawks men
Seattle University hosts Grand Canyon for a 7 p.m. contest on Friday.
Redhawks women
Seattle will visit Grand Canyon at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Falcons men
Seattle Pacific University visits Northwest Nazarene for a 6 p.m. game Thursday before dropping in on Central Washington University at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Lady Falcons go to Western Washington University for 7 p.m. action Thursday before going to Simon Fraser at the same time Saturday.
