Two men shot in Tukwila after fight breaks out
Two men are being treated for gunshot wounds after a fight broke out in the parking lot of a Kentucky Fried Chicken on International Boulevard in Tukwila. The fight started about 9:30 p.m. on the 15000 block of Tukwila International Boulevard on July 14. According to police, two groups of young men in the parking lot began to fight. The fight quickly escalated into shooting. Witnesses told police that once the gunfire started, the group quickly scattered but two bystanders had been hit. The first victim collapsed in the Taco Time parking lot across the street. Emergency responders rushed him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with critical injuries. The second victim’s wounds were non-life-threatening. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are now investigating who was involved in the shooting and what it was over. They are asking anyone with possible information to contact the King County Sheriff’s Office. 

$105K in stolen jewelry recovered in Des Moines and Burien
In a statement released by the Bellevue Police Department, an investigation of a 2015 burglary has resulted in the recovery of $105,000 worth of stolen jewelry. The burglary took place on Dec. 28, 2015 when a group drove a vehicle through the doors of the Bellevue Square Nordstrom and used tools to open jewelry cases and steal more than $200,000 worth of jewelry. The investigation took several months but on June 10, police served warrants at unspecified locations in both Des Moines and Burien. The result was a seized vehicle and the recovery of $65,000 worth of stolen jewelry. Additionally, police were able to take possession of the pickup truck used in the Bellevue burglary along with another $40,000 in stolen jewelry. Four adults have been charged so far in the investigation. 

Three-car wreck in SeaTac caused by two cars racing on I-5
One person was seriously injured in SeaTac on July 12 in a three-car-crash that resulted from two drivers racing on I-5. The wreck took place just before 3 p.m. according to Washington State Patrol Trooper. Chris Webb. The two cars began racing on southbound I-5 just north of the I-5/I-405 interchange. As the two vehicles approached the S. 200th Street exit, both vehicles struck each other before hitting a third vehicle. The impact caused one of the racing vehicles off the Interstate where it rolled on the shoulder. The driver of the rolled vehicle was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. The driver of the uninvolved vehicle was unharmed. The driver of the second racing vehicle was also unharmed but is now being investigated for vehicular assault. The crash blocked half of southbound I-5 for hours while crews cleaned up the wreckage and troopers completed their investigation causing backups for miles during the evening commute.
