Some of the art pieces are for sale. The Art on Poverty Bay project sponsored by the Des Moines Art Commission finds and displays sculptures, carvings, and murals made by artists in the area. We will learn about the history and significance of many of the art pieces, and are hoping we can have at least one artist join us to tell us their inspiration and method of making their art. The Burien Brat Trot is a flat and fast 5K and one mile race through the streets of Burien followed by the best street party around—Bavarian Festival. This fest includes beer gardens, live bands, pretzels, sausage, beer fraus, bouncy toys, and food trucks. Bavarian Fest kicks off at 11 a.m. and runs all day.
