Man arrested for murder of Burien resident
Detectives arrested a young man—and booked into the King County Youth Detention Center—for the murder of a 27-year-old man from Burien. On the night of Fri., Nov. 11, the man was shot and killed in White Center. Deputies arrived at the intersection of S.W. 96th Street and 15th Avenue S. around 10:40 p.m. in response to a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they discovered a man on the ground, who was not breathing. The deputies administered CPR until medics arrived, but the resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses told police that a group of men were talking with the victim prior to the shooting. When the verbal fight was over, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The men fled the scene on foot. A K-9 team searched for the suspect but was unable to locate him. At this point, there is no new information about what led to the fight that occurred just prior to the shooting. Detectives are still actively investigating this incident.
