Van stolen contained $1 million in musical equipment
King County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public to help locate a U-Haul van stolen from a hotel parking lot in SeaTac containing more than $1 million in musical equipment. The van was parked in the Double Tree Hotel parking lot in the 18700 block of International Blvd on Thursday night, Nov. 16. A dark colored pickup truck was seen in the area at the time of the crime and may be associated with the crime. The U-Haul is described at a Ford F450, orange and white with a large picture of a Zebra on the side and license plates AG29943. The dark colored pickup was a 2 door with 2 white stripes on the top of the cab. Call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311 with information about the crime—or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)—and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
Burglary of jewelry
Around 4:30 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 19, a woman reported jewelry stolen from inside her home, located in the 16800 block of 35th Avenue S. She said the crime occurred sometime during the last few months. The jewelry was inside her bedroom dresser drawer.
Pot shop burglarized
A vehicle drove through the front of a pot shop, located in the 10800 block of 1st Avenue S., to gain entry and rob the store. The crime was reported at 5 a.m. on Thurs., Nov. 16.
Residential burglary
A man residing in the 10700 block of 19th Avenue S.W. discovered his previously locked detached garage door was wide open around 8:50 a.m. on Tues., Nov. 14. He found the padlock securing the door was cut.
Robbery of chain store
Around 7 p.m. on Tues., Nov. 14, a man robbed a chain store located on the 9900 block of 15th Avenue S.W. The suspect pointed a gun at an employee who was preparing to lock up the shop and took money from the cash register.
Death investigation
Officers are investigating the death of a “John Doe” from apparent gunshot wounds. The man was found on a sidewalk in the 9600 block of 15th Avenue S.W. around 10:40 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 10. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Stolen items recovered at Safeway
Officers were dispatched to Safeway, 4011 S. 164th St., around 11 a.m. on Tues., Nov. 7 to retrieve found property. A sealed plastic bag was discovered containing multiple cell phones, wallets, jewelry, money and cards. Officers tried to find all the owners they could identify.
