Three second places highlighted the area performances in state wrestling competition that concluded Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.
All of them went into the championship matches without a tournament loss before being defeated in the final.
Kevin Plenh-Romero took second at 120 pounds in the boys Class 2A competition, losing his championship match by a 6-1 score.
Two area athletes took second in the girls competition that combined all classifications.
Caylee Collins of Highline took second at 170 pounds and Giuliana Pepe of Mount Rainier finished second at 190. Both lost by fall.
Osman Castenada snagged sixth place for Highline at 126 pounds in the 2A boys portion of the action, with teammates Eli Warner (195) and Jonovan Omar (220) both taking eighth.
