For all the local Mama's, you want to read this. Have you heard of Solid Roots Learning Center? On my quest this month for the Burien Seen I was able to talk with the owner Eiryl of this gem located inside the Highline Athletic Club.
According to their Facebook page this is what they do. "We provide structured project-base curriculum to engage children and encourage them to learn to inquire, motive to ask, learn to speak out and do investigation! Our drop-in program is a good option for stay at home moms that need to run errands, go to appointments, or simply wants some time alone for a couple of hours! No obligations, no monthly tuition fees. Come in, register, drop-off and you're on your way to being kid-free! Solid Roots is equipped with IP cameras that allow parents to view their children anytime! We are your child's home away from home!"
This is amazing! I am a Mom of two young kids, and this kind of place is just what we need here in Burien with the boom of all the young families, and needs for parents and caregivers to be able to have a break, and be able to trust the place where we leave our little ones. In my chat with Eiryl, she was able to share some news about the business.
Q: Any new hires recently?
A: No new hires. Our Center just opened in November of 2017. We are working on getting more clients. However, when the needs arise, we would definitely hire.
Q: What special dates or events do you have coming up?
A: We are currently putting together monthly programs for the little ones that would help them socialize and be exposed to having new people around them! Our programs would mainly target toddlers and pre-k children to help them get ready for kindergarten - not only academically but more importantly emotionally and socially!
Q: Any special notes about the business or upcoming anniversaries/open houses?
A: We are so happy to be part of the Burien/West Seattle/White Center communities. We exist to support families with little ones who want to slowly ease their children to getting used to the "schooling concept". As our name implies - Solid Roots Learning Center - we want to cultivate, instill good values and form solid roots to help children succeed as their unique individual self. We want to help children be their best versions of themselves!
Q: What else is new and exciting at your business? Why should people come see you?!
A: We were happy to get our first review in Yelp. I want to share it from one of our parent's point of view as this is exactly how we want to be known for!
"I found Solid Roots while searching for a preschool for my son. I didn't like the pricing (too high) or times (inflexible and didn't mesh with my schedule) for any of the preschools I found until I came upon Solid Roots. This program is unheard of in all of my searching. No where have I found a DROP IN childcare facility with such reasonable pricing (less per hour than my previous babysittter!)
We decided to give it a try and are not disappointed. My son LOVES Miss Q and "the other lady" (he hasn't yet learned her name). When I pick him up, he is always fully engaged in some new activity. He is well fed, uses the potty, creates art, and learns something new every time (from shapes, to numbers, to letters, to animals, to locomotives). He never wants to leave and always wants to go back. I feel less guilty about all the art projects and learning opportunities I wish I had time for with my kiddo because I know he's having a great time at Solid Roots.
My son hopes to meet your children sometime soon!"
Solid Roots is located at 125 S 156th Street in Burien. If you would like more information give them a call at 206-446-5447. Thanks for stopping by the Seen this week!
