Thief strikes teriyaki stand
A family-owned teriyaki restaurant, located in the 14200 block of 1 Ave S, was burglarized around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4. The thief drilled a lock on the front door of the building to gain access inside.
Trashcan vandal
A woman residing in the 14900 block of 14 Ave SW reported suspicious circumstances around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jul4. She said that her 90-gallon recycling bin was burned to the ground by an unknown heat source. She heard a loud noise the night before.
Hit and run in Burien
Officers headed to the intersection of SW 151 St. and 4 Ave SW around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4. A hit and run collision resulted in a struck light pole and planter.
Dry cleaners burglarized
Two juveniles stole a cash register from a dry cleaners located in the 12800 Des Moines Memorial. The crime was reported around 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4.
Illegal discharge of a firearm
Numerous shots were fired in the 1400 SW 124 St. around 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.
Credit card forgery
A wallet was stolen from a man residing in the 14400 block of 6 Ave S. He reported the crime around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4. His credit cards were taken and he said that one was used to purchase $800 of products.
Firearm discharged
Around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, a woman residing in the 200 block of SW 142 St. called police to report that she found a 9 mm shell casing in the grass on the east side of her house. She also heard some “pop” noises.
Artist robbed of pain
Paints were stolen from a muralist working on a ladder near the intersection of SW Roxbury St. and 16th Ave SW. The crime was reported around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 30.
