Gwen Voelpel has rejoined the City of SeaTac as Deputy City Manager. She is working alongside City Manager Carl Cole who began the City’s top job in January 2019.
Voelpel is no stranger to the City. She previously served as SeaTac’s Assistant City Manager from 2012 to 2016. For the past three-and-a-half years, she served as a senior performance advisor for Integris Performance Advisors. Integris is a management consulting firm specializing in process improvement, strategic planning, leadership coaching and team development.
Voelpel has extensive government experience including working in government in Washington State since 1989. Her positions included serving the City of Tacoma as Assistant to the City Manager, the City of Black Diamond as City Administrator, and the City of Snoqualmie as Parks & Recreation Director.
She holds a Master’s in Public Administration in Local Government Management and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Education specializing in Adult Education and Training.
Gwen was also previously a Certified Manager through the International City-County Management Association, a Washington City-County Management Association board member, member of the Engaging Local Government Leaders board for the Washington chapter, and the recipient of the Washington City County Management Association’s Assistant Excellence in Leadership Award.
Voelpel’s first day was Friday November 1.
