To the Editor,
It is upsetting to view online gouging on emergency supplies on Amazon and Walmart websites during a national health crisis; it is beyond disturbing to see it happening in your own backyard. Image my disgust and dismay walking through the neighborhood of Seahurst in Burien, (the city I unfortunately live in) this weekend to come across none other than the Block Watch Captain for this community, trying to capitalize on the corona virus outbreak by trying to sell barrels of "emergency water" to his neighbors and others who maybe panicking or in distress.
At a time when communities and neighborhoods should be pulling together and supporting each other, this man instead has chosen to try and capitalize on the outbreak. This from a man who lives in one of the most disgusting houses on the block and who has done more damage to this neighborhood's property values with his yard full of junk than anyone else in this community; now is trying to profit off his neighbor's fears and needs. What a humanitarian! Words can not accurately describe my utter disdain for this person. His actions are selfish, greedy and down right despicable and so are the actions of any individual(s) trying to capitalize in any way, shape or form from this national health crisis.
People are dying from this virus and others are really sick. Right now Seattle is leading the pack in the numbers game. My guess is no. From your sign it's worth about $20. But here's a thought, why not just give your neighbors in need the water? Otherwise, you sir, as a Block Watch Captain are a complete failure and as a human being an absolute disgrace.

$20 doesn’t seem too bad. The grocery stores charge $1/gallon.
