Seattle police fatally shot a homicide suspect Thursday after he fired at SWAT officers, who were attempting to arrest him at a White Center home.
Around 5:40 p.m., police went to a house in the 10000 block of 21st Avenue Southwest to serve a warrant for a homicide suspect. SWAT officers approached the house and began announcing their presence over a PA system. A suspect exited the house with a handgun and fired at officers. Three officers returned fire, fatally striking the man.
Police attempted life-saving measures, but fire department medics declared the 22-year-old suspect deceased at the scene.
Officers recovered a weapon from the suspect’s hand.
Representatives of the Office of Police Accountability, the Office of Inspector General and the SPD Force Investigation Team responded to the scene.
The involved officers will be placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with SPD policy while the investigation is ongoing.
Per policy, the department will release video of the incident within 72 hours.

Seattle Police were attempting to serve a warrant on a suspect in a home in the 10000 block of 21st SW in White Center Thursday when the suspect came outside armed with a handgun."Officers were at that resiendence with a bearcat vehicle," said Deanna Noelette, Investigations Chief for the Seattle Police Department. We believe from preliminary reports that he actually fired on the officers who returned fire striking the suspect. In spite of the fact that they took him out of the scene and rendered medical aid the Fire Department pronounced the suspect dead at the scene."
The matter will be investigated further and more details will be released when they are available.

So sad to see someone, so young, gone. But, when a homocide suspect comes out shooting, he/she should expect police to take approptiate action to protect not only themselves but all present in the ares.. condolences to family members
