Bond would not raise the tax rate
Mon, 07/11/2022
Information from Highline Public Schools
The 2022 Highline School Construction & Improvement Bond will continue Highline’s commitment to replace our aging school buildings with safe, modern learning facilities. This bond would rebuild three schools and fund critical improvements across the district without raising the tax rate.
Our volunteer-led Capital Facilities Advisory Committee recommended the bond to the Highline School Board. Voters will find it on the November 2022 ballot. Capital construction bonds require a 60% approval rate by voters.
Bond amount: $518 million
Cost to property owners: No increase to current tax rate
Election date: November 8, 2022
If Highline voters approve the bond in November, we will rebuild three schools:
Evergreen High School
Tyee High School
Pacific Middle School
The design work for all three schools was funded in the 2016 school bond, saving taxpayer dollars and speeding up the design and construction process.
See the Highline Public Schools site for more complete information.
