Sophia Andreini of Chief Sealth wrestled to a second place finish in the 125-pound Class 3A/4A girls division in Saturday's Mat Classic state finals at the Tacoma Dome.
Andreini went into the championship match with a perfect tournament record before taking a narrow 5-2 loss.
Two other area girls took third in their weight division in Jackie Benson of Ballard and Kanora Diederichs of Kennedy Catholic.
Benson won her 140 third place match by fall in only 50 seconds.
Diederichs also won by fall at 235 pounds, with her pin coming in a time of 1:49.
Two local fifth places and one local sixth place were posted on the boys side.
Emanuele Collins of Kennedy Catholic took the Class 4A 165-pound division fifth place match by fall in 1:39.
Lazlo Davis-Rudin of Ballard won the fifth place match in the 3A 215-pound division by fall in 2:17.
Micah Policarpio of Chief Sealth snagged sixth place in the 3A 165-pound division. He lost his final fifth place match by fall in 2:17.
