Swedish Physician's Ballard Clinic celebrated its 15th anniversary in April with a birthday cake and a noontime staff gathering.
When the office first opened in 1993, there were only three doctors. Now there are seven physicians and 20 staff. The office is located in the old Ballard building, 2208 N.W. Market St.
Services offered at Swedish Physicians Ballard Clinic include: family medicine (pediatrics, adolescent medicine; annual physicals; bone density screening; diabetes group visits; geriatric medicine; mammography; minor surgery; and on-site lab, X-ray and electrocardiogram (EKG).
"We have had some challenges, but it's real nice. I hope we did a good job over the years," said William Woo, MD, who has been in the Ballard clinic since the beginning.
As the longest tenured doctor in the office, Woo has seen three to four generations from the same family come through. He likes Ballard for its small-town feel. Most patients are from Ballard, Magnolia and North Seattle.
"It's gratifying to see patients at the store and on the street," said Woo. "I get to know all the merchants. We thrive on word of mouth."
