What has happened to showing our patriotism and our love for our country?
After 9-11 it was hard to find any sort of American flag to buy. There was a flag at almost every house, on cars, boats and every form of transportation in America. Where are all of these flags and patriotism today? We still have men and women in our armed forces here at home and all over the world trying to fight to stop terrorists, keep us free, and help other nations that want our help.
When these wonderful people come home, do they see and feel the love and respect they deserve beyond what their families and friends show them?
We cannot see, talk and be with every military person who comes home; we cannot be with every family, to show our respect who has lost a loved one while in the military. We can show everyone that, "We are Americans and we do care about our freedom and what our military is doing to keep us free. What a small way to show that we do care by flying the Stars and Stripes all of the time, not just at holidays.
I know not everyone is going to feel the way I do, and living in America, that is your right and freedom, thank you. I would not want everyone to agree with me.
I personally would love to see a flag flying from every home and store again to show the world that, "We are a strong and united nation."
It's not the flag that we honor it is what our flag stands for. Freedom, so that people can express their feelings in a public paper and not be arrested.
