We, the people of Seattle, voted to get the monorail four times for many reasons. Some reasons may be that we live in an area that will not be serviced by light rail, or that the monorail would get us downtown in one-third the time without ever getting stuck in traffic, or that it runs more frequently than bus service, or that we want to leave the gas guzzlers at home, or can't afford car payments, or that gas prices are forever climbing.

Just think, if we began building an alternative transportation system 25 years ago (e.g., not one using the same roads as everyone stuck in traffic), not only would it have cost us a lot less, but we'd probably have been improving it out to the suburbs years ago!

We, the people of Seattle have supported it with a lot of cash - perhaps our elected officials can help to divert a little bit of pork from somebody else's pet project and support a whole lot of people by helping to get this project over its current hurdle.
