Because citizens provided excellent descriptions and a license-plate number of a suspicious vehicle, officers were able to book a suspected car prowler into King County Jail early Sunday. Though the suspect was gone when officers arrived on the crime scene, they drove to the home associated with the suspicious car's registration and found a man matching the suspect description. They also found several tools that were positively identified as having been stolen. The suspect is a 39-year-old West Seattle resident.
